The Tulip Chair & Table by Eero Saarinen is one of the most beloved pieces of furniture. We continue to marvel at its delicate and sleek structure. Steel construction not only revolutionized modern architecture, it changed the way we view minimalism, beauty, and function at the same time.
Often, we get to work on these pieces. Whether it’s touching up a base or tabletop or making new seat cushions, no job is too simple or small. We equally enjoy working on modern pieces like the Tulip chair as much as a heavily carved Baroque period chair. No contrast of style is too great for us. We love “Tulips” but daisies and roses we love, too!
Naturally as designers we have a broad sense for shapes, pattern, texture, color and light. These are the visual instruments that we often conduct together in our minds.

Tooled leather furniture were predominantly used during the Baroque period of the Italian and Spanish Renaissance. Its carved designs were commonly used on chair seats and backs. It was meant to compliment woodcarvings and nail heads on chair frames. The characterized heaviness indeed provided a sense of great security, which during this period was a common theme. Today, these chairs make great statements for a bohemian chic look or a juxtaposed modern look. Thinking about adding a really cool timepiece in a room, a tooled piece of furniture will really give people something to talk about. In addition, framed gold or silver gilded paintings can add extra antiquity and luxury.
lovingly restored, these 6-pc French neo-renaissance embossed leather dining chair set in walnut exudes warmth and historical charm.
Add some vintage glamour. We love a fish eye lens the same reason we love these fish eye mirrors. These mirrors distort to enhance any reflection you’ll never tire looking at. Keep these eyes on you and enjoy the pictures.
For every new president, a budget to change the look of the White House is a major design over-haul every 4 or 8 years. The White House goes through changing furniture, artwork, and taking over major renovation and structural changes.
“For both public and private spaces, the president's family can sort through first-rate spoils instead of relying on shopping trips. There's a White House storage house with old furniture (like four-poster beds) and an art collection with about 500 sculptures, drawings, and paintings…”(www.slate.com- “How Much Can An Incoming President Change White House Décor”)
Here’s a look at the White House upholstery shop during John F. Kennedy’s presidency. We can only imagine the kind of work that was done here. Amazing antiques and luxurious fabrics at the finger tips of the interior designers and first ladies.

Do you remember Jacqueline Kennedy’s White House tour?
“On February 14, 1962, Kennedy took American television viewers on a tour of the White House with Charles Collingwood of CBS News. In the tour she said, ‘I just feel that everything in the White House should be the best—the entertainment that's given here. If it's an American company you can help, I like to do that. If not—just as long as it's the best.’ (The Film Archives-You Tube)

After many months of conceptualizing the design, “install day” is the most rewarding because we get to finally see it all come together. As much as we love highlighting the finished product, we think it’s also valuable to share with you every detail in “action”.

As creators, we refer to the past for inspiring and ground breaking designs. We honor the genius masters of our time and time’s past. May it be a painter, architect or a sculpture; seeking the truth is always at stake for men and women who take up creative occupations. For furniture makers, truth lies in every thread that meets a needle, fabric that meets a wood-frame, and a ruler that dictates size and scale. A craftsman’s place of worship is where materials come together as one. It’s a place that inspires him to create honest work, a place to express his god-given talent.
tapicería opened its doors in the spring of 2014. a wonderland for creativity and craftsmanship.

We’re talking about "chocolate"!
Across the street from our studio is the Guittard Chocolate Factory. If lucky while visiting, you’ll be greeted by an infectious aroma of “mom’s freshly baked brownies”. Unintended and a bit serendipitous, our studio’s chocolate-colored walls (Benjamin Moore’s- Mink #2112-10) are looking pretty “sweet”, too!
these decadent walls serve as a perfect backdrop for the ever changing pieces at the studio. and rightly so for these handsome set of dining chairs that we had recently acquired and carefully restored.
